Straighten Those Lines!



There is a  crease in the front fender that looks like it is from a frontal impact.  It mostly doesn't affect the truck but . . . 

. . . you can see in this pic that the fit of the hood wasn't right.  It sat a little low in the passenger side.  The hood was touching the sheetmetal above the headlight on that side and rubbed the paint off.

  The alignment of the hood is by two threaded stand-offs topped with rubber pads.  The rubber has hardened and doesn't provide a cushion any more.  I bought two crutch tips at Walgreens and they fit perfectly over the old rubber tips.  

It took a little fiddling, close, open, adjust, close, open, adjust.  It's not perfect but you can see that the hood is much closer to level than before.  I could have done better but got tired of all the adjusting.

I found these LED taillights on sale at a truck stop and bought two.  

 I'm going to try to make this fit in the hole in a way that I can still fit the lens for an original look.
